TD suspends MLA, MLC for meeting Jagan

Hardly 24 hoursafter the suspension of MLC and senior leader from East Godavari, Boddu BhaskaraRama Rao, the TDP on Friday was forced to hand over a similar ‘punishment’ toits Itchapuram MLA P Sai Raju.

The charge against both the leaders is that theyresorted to anti-party activities by teaming up with YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

TDPleadership suspended not only Sai Raju but also former MLA from Srikakulam KMohana Rao and TDP Ichapuram Assembly constituency incharge S Venkata Ramana, whoaccompanied Sai Raju to Chanchalguda prison to meet Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Speakingto reporters, Sai Raju and his associates said they were vexed with grouprivalries in TDP. Sai Raju said he discussed several issues during his meetingwith YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. “People of his constituency my character. I am a nota person who could be bought with packages or inducements,” he said.

OnThursday, Boddu Bhaskara Rama Rao called on Jagan Mohan Reddy at Chanchalgudajail, with an eye on Rajahmundry Lok Sabha seat from where he wants to fieldhis son Venkata Ramana. The Telugu Desam Pary leaders are angry over the friendshipbetween Rama Rao and Jagan Mohan Reddy for quite some time now. Rama Rao raisedthe banner of revolt against party leadership after the pro-Telangana latter.

RamaRao dropped enough hints that he would not stay with Telugu Desam for long.

Accordingto sources, the real reason behind Rama Rao getting close to Jagan Mohan Reddyis that he wanted his son Venkata Ramana to be fielded from Rajamundry LokSabha constituency, but Chandrababu Naidu had told him that the seat has beenreserved for film actor Murali Mohan.

Rama Rao, after it became clear thatRajahamundry ticket is out of bounds, approached YSR Congress with a request forYSR Cong nomination for his son, to which Jagan Mohan Reddy is understood tohave agreed. In his three decades of public life, Telugu Desam Party has givenRama Rao key positions. He was MLA twice and State Planning Board vice-chairmanonce. He also held the position of Zilla Parishad chairman.
