3 farmers die because of lightning strike in Guntur

Yesterday\'s unexpected torrential rain in Guntur district claimed the lives of three farmers, official sources said.

Yesterday's unexpected torrential rain in Guntur district claimed the lives of three farmers, official sources said.

N Anjeneyulu (40) and G Edu Kondalu (40) were struck by lightening when they were in the field, covering the harvested chili crop with tarpaulin.

At Mulakaluru village, J Govindh (45) died after being struck by lightning as he was returning home after collecting harvested cotton.

Cotton and chili crops in the district have been damaged due to the unseasonal rain, officials said.
