``Why is Bro. Anil Kumar, husband of YSR Congress leader Sharmila, is not responding to the allegations being made against him?’’ Rajya Sabha member V Hanumantha Rao has asked.
“There is an allegation against Anil Kumar that he constructed a place of worship on a land belonging to a poor family at Manikonda in Hyderabad without paying any compensation to them. I don’t think the members of that family will make false allegations against Anil. The evangelist should answer allegations if he feels that he is not guilty,” Rao demanded.
Talking to reporters here on Monday, the Rajya Sabha member said that he would meet the family which alleged that Anil Kumar had snatched away their land for constructing a place of worship. Rao alleged further that members of late YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s family were involved in several questionable deals and snatching away of lands from the poor in the name of industries and religious institutions. “How could such people, who are facing corruption allegations, point fingers at AICC president Sonia Gandhi,’’ he said.
