Alert went abegging?

If the Union Home Ministry had alerted all state governments including Andhra Pradesh about an impending terror strike two days ago, what did the state police do about it?

‘’It was a  general alert. There was no specific alert,’’ said  Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and director-general of police V Dinesh Reddy.

Police sources said that though general alerts are received from time to time, they go from one office to another without any measures being taken on the ground. ‘’General alerts keep coming. Unless there is a specific alert, there is nothing we can do,’’ an officer said on condition of anonymity.
