Bro Anil Kumar, husband of YSRC leader Sharmila, had encroached the lands of poor people at Pokkalawada village near Manikonda in Rajendra Nagar mandal of Ranga Reddy district by colluding with the officials of revenue and the police departments, during the regime of the late YS Rajasekhara Reddy, Rajya Sabha member V Hanumantha Rao has alleged.

Rao urged Ranga Reddy district collector to order a probe into the land-grabbing and restore the lands to their original owners. He wrote to the collector in this regard on Monday.

In his letter, the Rajya Sabha member told the collector, “Seven poor families had been enjoying these lands till NT Rama Rao became the chief minister. After that, the then village assistants evicted these farmers from their lands. Then, the farmers approached the court.

However, in 2006, their counsel colluded with the family members of Rajasekhara Reddy and wilfully lost the case,” said Rao.
