A registered medical practitioner kidnapped a 24-year-old widow five days ago and raped her several times at Nandikotkur.
The incident came to light Thursday evening after the victim rescued herself. The victims parents and locals vent their anger and thrashed the doctor.
Police said the widow went missing on May 5 and a case was booked in this regard.
K Mallaiah (35), a resident of Tank area in Nandikotkur town, kidnapped her and raped her several times. On Thursday, she somehow managed to escape from the kidnapper’s clutches and arrived home.
After she narrated the incident to her parents, they, along with locals, rushed to Mallaiah’s house and beat him with sticks and chappals. They tried to lynch him to death, but some locals informed the police, who then took him into custody.
Mallaiah was accused of raping a minor girl last year.
