Owaisi brothers, others appear in court

All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) president and Lok Sabha member Asaduddin Owaisi and his brother and Chandrayangutta MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi, along with party MLAs Ahmed Pasha Quadri, Afsar Khan, and Moazzam Khan, appeared in the excise court here on Monday.

The MIM leaders’ advocate informed the court that another MLA, Mumtaz Ahmed Khan, could not attend the court personally becuase he went to the USA. The court adjourned the next hearing to July 15.

The MIM leaders are accused in a case of 2005 registered at the Patancheru police station for allegedly abusing the then Medak district collector AK Singhal and other officials while they were protesting against the demolition of a mosque at Muttangi village near Patancheru during the widening of the Hyderabad-Mumbai NH-9.
