CM pats APSC candidates

Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has congratulated three students of Andhra Pradesh Study Circle (APSC) on their selection for central civil services.

The students _ L Siva Sankar of Dharmavaram near S.Kota in Vizianagaram sistrict (Rank  411), D Kishore Babu of Gangadharapuram of Gudivada in Krishna district (Rank 703) and B Punnam Kumar of Mancherial in Adilabad district (Rank 960) _ called on the chief minister along with social welfare minister Pithani Satyanaranayana at the Secretariat on Tuesday. The minister informed the chief minister that the AP Study Circle had given coaching to six candidates last year in facing civil services interviews and three of them were selected.

The AP Study Circle, set up by the state government in 1980 to give coaching to SCs, STs and BCs, has produced 45 IAS, 43 IPS and 314 other central services officers till 2011. For the first time, the state government provided a budget of Rs 8 crore for maintenance of study circles in the state and `12 crore for construction of permanent buildings.
