Misbehaviour of tahsildar flayed

Revenue staff including a deputy tahsildar, village revenue inspectors and others on Wednesday staged a protest at B Kothakota mandal tahsildar’s office condemning the alleged high-handed behaviour of the tahsildar B Suguna.

The tahsildar allegedly did not allow a newly posted Mandal Revenue Inspector (MRI) and Village Revenue Inspector (VRI) to take up their jobs and even used foul language against them.  Some of the VROs, VAOs and five deputy tahsildars unable to put up with the harassment went on leave. Revenue minister N Raghuveera Reddy reportedly discussed the issue with the chief minister.

The government posted a new MRI Lakshmi and VRI G Srinivasulu Reddy to the mandal and they came to take charge on Wednesday. Tahsildar Suguna however did not allow them to report to their duties.

“Who asked you to come here? Go back to those who sent you here. I won’t allow you to take charge and you can complain to any one,’’ she reportedly thundered on the new appoints.

Madanapalle sub-collector Hari Kiran collected details about the protest and sent a report to the collector.
