CM admits lapses in pet scheme

Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Saturday welcomed the negative campaign in the media on his pet scheme “Amma Hastham”.

Speaking to reporters here on Saturday, he said the adverse reports would help the government rectify the mistakes and make the scheme more beneficial to the poor. He admitted that initial hiccups were there in implementing the scheme and they would be rectified by June-end.

The state government was supplying nine grocery items in one bag at a concessional price under Amma Hastham to BPL families.

The chief minister said his government was committed to implementing the scheme in a better manner to help 2.5 crore BPL families throughout the state of Andhra Pradesh.
