Allay fears of Seemandhra people before division: Deo to Shinde

Union tribal affairs minister V Kishore Chandra Deo has urged the Centre to take all necessary measures to provide protection to the people of Seemandhra, who made Hyderabad their home and other people from the region living in Telangana districts before going ahead with bifurcation of the state.

Union tribal affairs minister V Kishore Chandra Deo has urged the Centre to take all necessary measures to provide protection to the people of Seemandhra, who made Hyderabad their home and other people from the region living in Telangana districts before going ahead with bifurcation of the state.

In a letter to Union home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde on Friday, Deo said that there were apprehensions among Seemandhra people, who were living in Telangana districts including Hyderabad, about their life and property.

“There is a possibility that the Seemandhra people who have given their houses and other properties on rent to Telangana people might face problems. The tenants may threaten them and claim that all those properties belong to them,” the minister said in his letter.

Deo further said that some people have already been telling Seemandhra people that after bifurcation, they would have to go back leaving the property to them. Hence, he asked Shinde to  build some confidence among such people before taking forward the process of bifurcation.

Differing with the view of some his peers from Seemandhra, who are advocating for locating the capital of residuary state of AP in between Vijayawada and Guntur, Deo wanted Visakhapatnam to be made the capital.
