In a suspected case of faction killing, a mandal-level TDP leader of the district was hacked to death between Anadanapalle and Rachur late Sunday night. The deceased was a follower of faction warlord and former minister Late Partiala Ravindra alias Paritala Ravi.
According to information reaching here, Somireddy from Garimekalapalle village of Roddam mandal left for his in-law’s residence at Rachur in Karnataka on his two-wheeler on Sunday night. Some miscreants, who followed the him, attacked him with iron rods and sickles and hacked him to death before fleeing from the spot after leaving the body in a pool of blood.
On Monday morning, a milk merchant observed the body and informed the Tirumani police. The body was sent to Pavagad government for autopsy and a case has been registered. Police are suspecting that some of his political rivals might have killed him. He is survived by a wife, two daughters and a son.
