Chandrababu Naidu alleges 'mean politics' by Congress

The way the Telangana note was approved by the Union Cabinet was height of “mean politics” of Congress, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N Chandrababu Naidu has alleged.

Naidu said on Thursday night that the Congress took the decision only to grab both the positive vote in Telangana and the negative vote in Seemandhra by joining hands with TRS and YSRC respectively. The Congress got YSRC president Jagan Mohan Reddy released on bail in return for his support after elections.

He recalled that when the TDP adopted a resolution in 2008 in favour of separate Telangana state, it wanted equal justice to all the regions. “We abide by our decision to do equal justice to all regions,” Naidu said and demanded that the Centre convene a meeting of stakeholders, including JACs of both Telangana and Seemandhra regions to resolve the issues relating to the division of the state.

Naidu lamented that though crores of people were on the roads for the last 65 days in Seemandhra region, the Centre failed to consult the Seemandhra JAC or people. “Even Congress ministers and MPs resigned in protest against the Cabinet decision. It speaks volumes about the Congress mean politics,” Naidu said.

Naidu said the UPA government would continue in office for not more than five months and there was no guarantee that it would come back to power. “How will the UPA government resolve the issues within five months. Is there any guarantee that the NDA will resolve the issues ?” Naidu questioned.
