YSRC president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has blamed Telugu Desam Party and the Congress for the division of the state.
“The way the state is being divided makes me wonder if the leaders doing it are human beings at all. Even though I was in jail for 16 months, I never experienced as much pain as I am now,” he said, speaking to mediapersons on Thursday.
Calling a 72-hour bandh from Friday to protest against the Cabinet decision to divide the state, Jagan Mohan Reddy said though he met the Governor and wrote to chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to convene the Assembly and pass a resolution in support of Samaikyandhra before the Cabinet note on Telangana is approved, no one had bothered about it, he said and added that his party would take recourse to legal remedy. “We will approach courts to prevent bifurcation of the state,” Jagan Mohan Reddy said.
He said he had appealed to Chandrababu Naidu to send a letter to the Centre against the division of the state and withdraw the one that he had given that he had no objection if the state is divided. “Both the parties would go down in history as having done harm to people of the state,” Jagan Mohan Reddy.
He demanded that all the 25 MPs in the Seemandhra region should quit so that the UPA government would collapse.
Of the 25, he and his party MP from Nellore had already resigned. That leaves 23 and if they too resign, it would bring down the government and the Telangana process too, he said.
