Heavy rain, with very heavy fall at some places, would occur in all the districts of Coastal Andhra Pradesh and in Kadapa and Chittoor districts of Rayalaseema during the next 48 hours, according to Met office.

Heavy rain would occur at isolated places in the remaining districts of Rayalaseema and in Mahbubnagar, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Nalgonda and Khammam districts of Telangana.

Officials said a well-marked low pressure area lies over West Central Bay of Bengal and adjoining southwest Bay off South Coastal Andhra Pradesh-North Tamil Nadu coast.

Northeast monsoon has been vigorous over Rayalaseema and active over South Coastal Andhra Pradesh. Rain occurred at most places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema and at isolated places over Telangana.

Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy reviewed the rain impact in coastal districts with chief secretary PK Mohanty and CMO officials at the Secretariat on Tuesday. He asked the officials to take necessary measures to help the affected people and farmers.

Rainfall received on Tuesday is as follows: Kavali 13 cm, Kalingapatnam 10 cm, Nellore 9 cm, Itchapuram 7 cm, Anakapalle 7 cm, Ongole 7 cm, Amalapuram 7 cm, Avanigadda 7 cm, Sullurpeta 7 cm, Narsapuram 7 cm, Koderu 6 cm, Atmakur 6 cm, Gudur 6 cm, Yellamanchili 6 cm, Visakhapatnam 5 cm, Rapur 5 cm, Kakinada 5 cm, Darsi 5 cm, Addanki 5 cm, Podili 5 cm, Sompeta 5 cm, Venkatagiri 5 cm, Venkatapuram 3 cm, Perur 2 cm, Eturnagaram 2 cm, Ibrahimpatnam 2 cm, Mahbubnagar 1 cm and Narsampet 1 cm.
