TRS MLA T Harish Rao found fault with the state government for sanctioning `45 crore for Andhra Pradesh State Formation Day celebrations at a time when people are in distress on account of heavy rains that lashed for the past one week.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Sunday, he said it was not proper for the government to sanction such a big amount on such celebrations, when people are suffering. The amount, a large part of it being spent on advertisements, should be spent for compensating the farmers who lost crops.
He alleged Kiran Kumar Reddy of favouring a particular advertising agency since he took over as chief minister. “Why is the chief minister giving government advertisement contracts for very huge amounts to JWT Global Advertisement Agency? What is the connection between the firm and the CM’s brother?” he asked and demanded an enquiry by the Governor into the issue.
