Infrastructure and investment minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao on Thursday came down heavily on TJAC chairman Prof M Kondandaram and TRS leaders for slamming chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy for denying permission to their peace rally (which the TJAC however has withdrawn) in Hyderabad.

In a statement here, he said that it was unbecoming of Kodandaram to accuse Kiran Reddy and DGP V Dinesh Reddy of encouraging Seemandhra movement and that they were thus trying to stymie the process of formation of Telangana state.

The police had denied permission to the peace rally because the TJAC approached them late and their their rally coincided with the APNGOs public meeting.

Even the permission granted was very conditional in nature - the police had set 19 conditions. There was no possibility of the chief minister having to do anything with it, he said and reminded them that the police had given permission in the past for Telangana rallies and public meetings also.
