Samaikyandhra supporter jumps to death

A Samaikyandhra supporter jumped to death from a building in Proddatur in the district on Friday.

The deceased, G Nagamunaiah (40), working as a mechanic in Proddatur RTC depot, took part in the relay hunger protest camp by the RTC workers on Friday and discussed about the ‘Save Andhra Pradesh’ meeting slated to be held in Hyderabad on Saturday with his colleagues.

After a while, all of a sudden, he climbed atop the water tank in the depot and jumped from there while raising Jai Samaikyandhra slogan and suffered serious injuries.

The other employees rushed him to Proddatur government hospital, where he succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment. Learning about the death of the RTC employee, the other workers and integrationists thronged the hospital and offered tributes to Nagamunaiah. Leaders offered help to the deceased’ family.
