Chandrababu Babu keen on playing key role at Centre

TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu has said that he is presently focusing on playing an important role in the formation of the next government at the Centre as he has spent good part of his life occupying highest positions, including that of chief minister, in the state.

Addressing a meeting on the second day of his ‘Atma Gourava Yatra’ in Krishna district here Saturday, Naidu said that his son and daughter-in-law were also well-settled in their lives. There was no need for him to work for political career of his son, he added. Naidu, who made an overnight stay at the Association of Lady Entrepreneurs of Andhra Pradesh (ALEAP) at Surampalli Friday, conducted a meeting with women entrepreneurs. Addressing a road show at Surampalli cross roads, Naidu claimed that he had embarked on his yatra for the well-being of the public.

Coming down heavily on YSRC at a road show at Madalavarigudem, he alleged that former chief minister late YS Rajasekhara Reddy had offered 1.3 lakh acres at Bayyaram to his son-in-law, Anilkumar, as dowry besides gifting Rs 80,000 crore earned illegally through Jala Yagnam to son Jaganmohan Reddy. At Chanupatlavaridgudem, Naidu, addressing the students of an engineering college, expressed fear that there was no use studying as there were no jobs due to the present conflict. Teachers would lose their jobs in the future due to poor patronage to colleges, he added.

Vijayawada: The meetings addressed by Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president Nara Chandrababu Naidu as a part of his ‘Atma Gourava Yatra’ at various places in the district had poor attendance due to the ‘Save AP’ meet in Hyderabad. Almost all television channels covered the entire event live. Most of the people in the Seemandhra region were glued to their TV sets watching for updates on the meeting which has assumed importance in the wake of stiff opposition to it by the protagonists of Telangana. Mobike-borne Telugu Yuvatha activists joined Naidu’s yatra which started at 1 pm and tried to mobilize crowds but in vain. Only a few people were seen welcoming the yatra at the Agrigold Centre, Chanupatlavarigudem, Madalavarigudem, Gollagudem and Adavinekkalam. Naidu used the titles of NTR-starrers ‘Bobbilipuli’, ‘Simhabaludu’, ‘Sardar Paparayudu’ and ‘Major Chandrkant’ in referring to the youth but the exercise failed to enthuse them. Interestingly, the youth responded only when a mention was made about NTR and remained calm during the rest of the speech.
