Seemandhra employees, cops stoned by Telangana students

The stretch between Basheerbagh and police control room has become a virtual battle ground with police resorting to lathicharge on the students who lobbed stones at the APNGOs. In the incident, as many as three employees received bleeding injures. At around 9.30 a.m., the police led by the deputy commissioner of police VB Kamalasan Reddy came to Nizam College hostel on a tip off that some pro-Telangana elements, masquerading as students, were inside the hostel.

The police entered the hostel and found some TRS student wing members including TRSV president B Suman in the hostel. Police arrested Suman and other non boarders and shifted them to Goshamahal. Minutes later, APNGOs who were proceeding towards LB Stadium, reached Ayakar Bhavan, were pelted stones by the students shouting ‘Jai Telangana’ slogans.

Police arrested as many as 30 students from Nizam College hostel. Osmania University Student JAC leader Balaraj Goud fell unconscious after a group of APNGOs reportedly thrashed him. Balraj and three others holding black flags, ran toward LB Stadium from Basheerbagh Press club shouting ‘Jai Telangana’ slogans. When the OUJAC leaders were trying to enter LB Stadium, the employees who arrived from Rayalaseema thrashed them. In the incident, Balraj received injures and collapsed on the road.

Police shifted him to a nearby hospital. Meanwhile, hundreds of IT professionals, who came to the LB stadium, were denied entry. However, techies formed a human chain raising Samaikyandhra slogans on the road.
