CM, DGP behind APNGOs' meet : TRS

TRS Legislature Party leader Etela Rajender alleged that the APNGO’s public meeting, held here on Saturday, had completely been directed by the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and DGP V Dinesh Reddy only.

“It was not like a government employees’ meeting. It appeared more like a meeting of factionists and capitalists of Seemandhra in the guise of employees. How far it is correct to attack the Telangana people for raising “Jai Telangana” slogans during the public meeting?” he questioned.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Sunday, Rajender questioned as to what was wrong in chanting “Jai Telangana” slogans at the meeting.

“Don’t we have any freedom to chant Jai Telangana slogans on our own land? Even a police constable was brutally attacked for raising Jai Telangana slogans. If it was not a mistake on the part of the Seemandhra people to hold United Andhra meeting on Telangana soil, raising of slogans by Telangana people during the meeting is also equally not improper,” he said.

He questioned as to why the Telangana people have to live with Seemandhra people even after such barbaric acts against them.

“By resorting to such barbaric acts against our people, the Seemandhra government employees have polluted the congenial atmosphere between the people of two regions. Henceforth, it is not possible for the Telangana people to live with Seemandhra people,” he added.

Meanwhile, Peddapalli MP G Vivekananda also came down heavily on the Chief Minister for the incidents of roughing up of a constable and a student leader from Telangana during the APNGOs’ meeting.

“Chief minister Kiran Reddy is a Seemandhra stooge. Saturday’s APNGOs public meeting was held under his direction only. Kiran Reddy and DGP V Dinesh Reddy conspired with each other against Telangana. Hence, the ministers from Telangana should know the facts at least now,” he said.
