The Lok Satta Party has demanded that the Centre constitute an official committee to go into the crisis in Andhra Pradesh following the decision to bifurcate the state.

Speaking to reporters here on Monday, party president  Jayaprakash Narayan demanded that a joint Parliamentary committee or a government committee be constituted to find an amicable solution to the crisis. The Centre cannot remain a mute spectator when hatred is dividing people, he said.

He also demanded that the state Assembly be convened immediately so that elected representatives can discuss the issue and try to work out an amicable solution.

He said he had postponed his Telugu Tejam mission at Anantapur on Sunday as he do not want to aggravate the situation.
