Call for Corrections in Caste Census

VIJAYAWADA: State Socio Economic and Caste Census (SECC) officials on Saturday asked the people from 13 districts of AP to avail of the required forms for any objections and changes in the SECC list. SECC state joint director B Rambabu said that it was the last chance for enrolling, removal or corrections in names in the SECC list.At a training camp for the SECC staff at the Sub-collector’s office in the city, Rambabu said that they had made forms A,B,C,D,E available for corrections and clarifications at mandal level, and forms A,B,C,D at municipal level.

Joint collector J Murali said that they were coming up with an 82-day strategy to make corrections in the SECC list and added that this plan would come into force after getting approval from the collector. He explained that in the first 10 days after the approval, a draft of applications for objections and claims will be taken, then these issues will be corrected in 52 days after that. Any appeals on the list will be taken between the 52nd and the 60th day, and an appellate will be released by the officials on the 80th day. The final list with all changes will be announced on the 82nd day.
