VIJAYAWADA: Former Union Home secretary K Padmanabhaiah stressed attitude and analytical skills to emerge successful in civil services examinations and interview. He gave tips to students at Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies (RGUKT) at Nuzvid, on how to prepare for civil services exam, Monday.

At the orientation programme on foreign fellowships and civil services preparation, Padmanabhaiah pointed out the importance of right approach and preparation in cracking the civil services. He inspired students by highlighting that any one can succeed in civil services through hard work and concentrating on studies.

Retired IPS officer MV Krishna Rao gave tips to students on life skills and reiterated the importance of integrity in succeeding in life and career. Centre for Human Security Studies director Ramesh Babu informed students about various fellowships available to students in foreign universities. He also explained about various opportunities for students in foreign countries.

RGUKT director Ibrahim Khan said that as most of the students in the RGUKT are from rural background, the orientation programme on civil services preparation and foreign opportunities had been conducted to create awareness about these opportunities well in advance for final year students.

As these students will pass out in 2014, they can prepare for career from now itself. About 700 final year students from various branches participated with enthusiasm in the programme.
