VIJAYAWADA: District Child Welfare Committee (CWC) chairperson B Nagesh Rao has said that there is a need for the district administration to be child-friendly and stressed on the need for more awareness about child welfare programmes.
According to a release, Nagesh met directors and representatives of various NGOs from 17 mandals across the district at Navajeevan Bala Bhavan in the city Thursday.
Nagesh said that the welfare programmes conducted under child safety net programme (CSN) were providing great results. He said that CSN helped child labourers and shelterless children to a great deal. Executive director Fr S Balasari said that awareness among people was being created with the help of NGOs and said that everyone should take part.
