VIJAYAWADA: Stating that the basic infrastructure and resources are available for setting up several industries in the district, district collector M Raghunandan Rao has urged the industrialists to come up with projects and ideas. He said he will be available for young entrepreneurs at his Camp Office for two days -  Friday and Saturday- every  week.

At a special meeting held with the district industrialists and voluntary organisations  at the Collector’s Camp office here Saturday, Raghunandan Rao said that the government was ready to construct the Machilipatnam Port and an oil industry in the district. He also said that the Gannavaram Airport can cater the travelling needs of the national and international industrialists.

He also spoke on expansion of the Machilipatnam-Vijayawada highway and revealed that the government land is available to develop tourism centres in the city. He said the government has directed the officials concerned to implement the single window policy for granting permission to set up new industries in the state.

Secretary of the Andhra Chamber of Commerce and Industry CHRK Prasad said a terminal house should be set up at Gannavaram Airport immediate ly.

Sudhakar Chowdary, a textile industrialist, said suggestions from the representatives of voluntary organisations should be utilised properly and  requested the district collector to find a solution to the industries facing power cuts in Jaggayapeta and Nuziveedu areas.

PVD Krishna, D Butchibabu, A Ramakrishna, MV Ramalingeswara Rao, Ramakrishna, Exhibition Society secretary Rama Rao, Gangadhar, Ricemillers Association president P Veeriah, Printers’ Association member Purna Chandra Rao and several other industrialists attended the meet.
