GUNTUR: Tragedy struck a family at Kotcherla village in Ipuru mandal of the district when three of its members, including a newborn baby girl, died in a span of three days.
According to sources, V Nagalakshmi (19) was rushed to a private hospital in Vinukonda town Thursday where she delivered a baby girl and died due to complications. Her father Chinta Chinakondaiah (58) died of cardiac arrest after performing the funerals of his daughter Friday and Saturday, the infant died due to illness.
Following this, the relatives of the deceased staged a dharna in front of the hospital Saturday.
According to sources, Nagalakshmi suffered severe bleeding during delivery and was rushed to Narasaraopet for better treatment where the doctors advised that she be taken to Guntur. But then, she died while being shifted to Guntur.
After performing her last rites, her father Chinakondaiah suffered heart stroke and died while being shifted to nearby hospital Friday.
Meanwhile, the new born baby fell ill and was rushed to the private hospital in Vinukonda where she died while undergoing treatment.
