VIJAYAWADA: District collector M Raghunandana Rao directed the officials concerned to complete the remaining works at the Jakkampudi farmers layout and asked them to allot the plots to the farmers with all basic facilities.
He along with VMC commissioner Hari Kiran visited the the layout of the farmers’ portion at Jakkampudi Wednesday.
He promised the owners (farmers) that plots along with basic facilities will be handed over to the owners within 10 days. He also mentioned that side drain works would be carried out after the allotment of plots to the farmers.
He visited G+3 houses at Jakkampudi and expressed satisfaction on their housing project and also enquired about the community hall, which is under construction. After the inspection of high school at Jakkampudi, he directed the commissioner to make efforts to join the children residing in that area.
He also suggested to the commissioner to prepare a plan to beautify the Budameru rivulet in order to facilitate recreation to the residents near the housing project.
VMC incharge chief engineer T Moses Kumar, executive engineer (housing) A Uday Kumar, deputy executive engineer K Vijay Kumar, city planner Chakrapani, revenue officers and several contractors accompanied the collector.
