VIJAYAWADA: Krishna district received 116.9 cms of rainfall Sunday. Mandavalli mandal registered highest rainfall of 9 cms followed by A Konduru (6.4 cms), Reddigudem (6.1cms), Kalidindi (5.7 cms), Tiruvuru (5.4 cms), and Vijayawada (2.4 cms), according to Met department. Except Jaggaiahpeta, all mandals in Krishna district witnessed rainfall.
This year, between Jun 1 and Jul 27, 721 cms of rain has been registered which is fifty percent less than the normal. With rainfall occurring at regular intervals over the past two to three days, farmers are elated and gearing up for the farm works.
