ELURU: Dr Kolli Raghurami Reddy assumed charge as superintendent of police here Sunday. Additional superintendent of police K Chandra Sekhar handed over the charge to Raghurami Reddy who was shifted from Kurnool district.
Raghurami Reddy, the 2006 batch IPS officer, was first posted in Bhadrachalam and promoted to the SP rank in 2011. His first posting as SP was in Prakasam and later Kurnool. He told newsmen later that his priority would be women protection, women trafficking, reduce crime rate and maintain law and order. The SP said stern action would be taken against the police personnel involving in settlements.
Steps will be taken to repair police quarters and their welfare will get top billing, he added. Raghurami Reddy said he was always accessible to people.
