VIJAYAWADA: Suspense over the release of the two site engineers held by the Naga Revolutionary Front (NRF) continued Wednesday, even as the family members of G Pradeesh Kumar anxiously waited for information about his return.

Speaking to Express, the family members said that the employer, Ratna Constructions, was supportive and that the general manager had spoken to them. “We have not received any information about the release so far, but the company is in touch with us. They promised that they would settle the ‘commitments’ soon. We are expecting their return in a day or two,” said Pradeesh’s brother G Jagadish.

Two site engineers from Krishna district, G Pradeesh Kumar and C Raghava Rao, were kidnapped by NRF in Dimapur in Nagaland on July 27.

It is learnt that the militants had agreed to free the engineers by Wednesday morning. However, the family members, who are anxiously waiting to hear the news of the release of the engineers, are yet to receive any official confirmation.
