VISAKHAPATNAM: Offering a bouquet of concerts to the music lovers in the city, the Visakha Music Academy (VMA) will conduct its 45th annual festival of Music and Dance at Kalabharati auditorium in the city commencing November 26. Eminent Indian classical musicians will participate.
During the week-long fete, Chennai-based Carnatic vocalist OS Thyagarajan will be felicitated on Dec 1 with the prestigious title ‘Sangeeta Kala Saagara’ which carries a gold medal and a citation.
On the inaugural day, nadaswaram and Dolu exponents Gurivilli Appanna and Gurvilli Durga Rao will be honoured with Dwaram Venkata Swamy Naidu Puraskar.
V Saraswathi and V Krishnaveni, popularly known as Vishnubhatla sisters, will be honoured with MS Subbalakshmi Puraskar on November 27. Founder-director of Kuchipudi Kalaa Kendram AB Bala Kondala Rao would be presented Dr Saraswati Memorial Puraskar on December 2.
