Youth Contribute to 30 pc of Credit Card Usage

VISAKHAPATANMAM: Younger generations below 30 years of age are the more frequent credit card users, who contribute to 30 per cent of credit card users in the country, vice-president of Consumer Relations and Communication Credit Information Bureau Limited (CIBIL) Harshala Chandorkar has said. She addressed a conference on CIBIL and the importance of credit reports, where she revealed that more than 200 per cent increase in credit card usage has been registered in the last three years.

Harshala Chandorkar informed that CIBIL has 350 million consumer bureau records and 19 million commercial bureau records till date. She also mentioned that around 35 per cent of the population has secured 750+ credit score, based on the past loan records.

She also suggested some measures to have a good credit score. A credit card applicant or a user can check their credit score by registering themselves and following the instructions on the website www.cibil.com, she said.
