CHITTOOR: A 53-year-old teacher, who was sexually harassing a class V student over the past few days, was thrashed and later handed over to the police in Pulicherla mandal of the district on Tuesday. The teacher P Chandraiah was working as a teacher in the government primary school in Ellankivaripalle in Pulicherla mandal. The incident came to the notice of some women of the village who confronted Chandraiah. As Chandraiah did not give proper answer, the woman with some other women of the village thrashed the teacher. Later, Chandraiah was handed over to the Kallur police. Kallur assistant SI P Selva Raj registered a case and is investigating.
