APIIC Asked to Allot Land for Power Project

HYDERABAD: The government Thursday directed the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Limited (APIIC) to allot over 1,200 acres land in APSEZ, near Pudimadaka village in Visakhapatnam district for the proposed coal-based NTPC 5 X 800 MW( 4000 MW) super thermal power station.

Earlier, the state government had decided to allot the proposed land to NTPC on lease basis for 33 years. The NTPC chairman had said that the company was keen on setting up the power station at the site  owing to its proximity to the existing Simhadri power project. The NTPC has undertaken to complete the project before March, 2019. It will be the single largest location for a power project in Andhra Pradesh. This project is estimated to cost Rs  20,000 crore.
