Phone Facility for Prisoners

KAKINADA:The Prisons Department has provided basic telephone facility in the State Jail for Women here Thursday. Prisoners will be allowed to call their family over two phone numbers.

As part of jail reforms, the department is running a petrol bunk with the inmates and also selling various products made by them. Prisons DIG A Narasimha said that the department provided the inmates with facility to enable them to speak to their family. The Central Prison and State Prison for Women are at the forefront in implementing various reforms, he added. Jail SP Sarada and DSP Krishna Veni were present.
