VSP Officials Told to Implement ‘5S’ Management in Township

VISAKHAPATNAM: Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) director (Personnel) GBS Prasad has directed the officials to dispose of all the unwanted items and implement ‘5S’ management at the Soviet Establishment and A-modified quarters in Ukkunuagaram Township under Town Administration. He also told them to improve maintenance of the quarters and hygiene.

Prasad visited the labour camps of SEW Infrastructure Limited and Paharpur Cooling Towers at Madeenabaugh near VSP’s New Expansion Gate. He interacted with the residents and elicited information pertaining to the welfare facilities available. He also visited the Labour Colony of Larsen & Toubro Limited, located near the Balacheruvu Gate, where he ordered the officials concerned to hold periodical visits to the colonies and take up improvement of the facilities with the respective contracting agencies and ensure better living conditions in the colonies.

Earlier, during his visit to Arunodaya School, Prasad interacted with teachers, principal, students and parents. After listening to the problems expressed by parents, he directed the school management to take immediate remedial measures for providing better amenities for students. Further, he directed the Town Administration officials to undertake minor repairs to the building like arrest of seepages, jungle clearance and painting of play toys of children.
