VISAKHAPATNAM: GVMC commissioner MV Satyanarayana said that 15 Anna Canteens to provide tasty and hygienic tiffins and meals at economical price would be set up in the city.

At a media conference Monday, the commissioner said that the canteens would be set up mostly at Car Shed Junction, Madhurawada Market, Maddilapalem Bus Complex, KGH, Sriharipuram Market, Gopalapatnam Rythu Bazaar, Kapprada, Kancharapalem Rythu Bazaar, NSTL, Tagarapuvalasa Community Hall, Gajuwaka Autonagar and Pendurty zonal office junction.

The food items would be prepared at one central place and would be transported to all the canteens. The GVMC is contemplating to give food preparation contract to some of the organisations like ISKCON, Nandi Foundation and SHGs. However, the final call would be taken by the government, he added.
