VIJAYAWADA: There would be no forcible acquisition of land from farmers for constructing the capital city. Chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu is determined to protect the interests of farmers as regards land acquisition and wants to make them shareholders in the land acquired for development, excise and BC welfare minister Kollu Ravindra has assured. Addressing reporters at the party office in the city Tuesday, the minister clarified that a detailed report would be prepared to decide the percentage to be given to farmers after acquiring land from them. The Capital Committee is exploring all possible options to undertake the works by studying various capital cities.
