VUDA Surveyor Caught Taking Bribe

VISAKHAPATNAM: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths caught a VUDA surveyor redhanded while he was accepting a bribe from a person at the VUDA office here Friday. The surveyor demanded money for approving a land clearance application.

According to sources, K Sudhakar of Sivajipalem has planned to set up an oil mill in Padmanabham mandal on the city outskirts for which he applied to the VUDA authorities for clearance four months ago. The official concerned K Siva Sankara Prasad kept Sudhakar’s application pending for 15 days demanding `20,000 to approve his request. Finally, Sudhakar agreed to pay the amount in two installments and informed the same to ACB officials. While he was paying the first installment Friday, ACB sleuths appeared on the scene and caught the surveyor redhanded.
