VISAKHAPATNAM: Maoists gunned down a former colleague branding him as a police informer late on Friday night.
According to the police, the body of Muvvala Naresh belonging to Yendakota village in Koyyuru mandal of the district was found at Y Ramavaram area in East Godavari district on Saturday.
Naresh was picked up by a group of Maoists on Friday night from a relative’s house in Y Ramavaram on the pretext of discussing a serious issue. They had assured Naresh’s family members of sending him back home soon. Later, the Maoists killed him by pumping bullets into his body, the police said.
Naresh joined the banned CPI (Maoist) at the age of 10 and rose to the cadre of Dalam commander in 2004. He surrendered to the police in East Godavari district in 2005 and later got married.
