VISAKHAPATNAM: The Mid Year Refit Review (MYRR) and Mid Year Infrastructure Review (MYIR) were held at the Naval Dockyard here Wednesday. Chief of material, Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (Navy) vice-admiral KR Nair presided over the event.

Nair observed that the Indian Navy made rapid progress in the past three decades in terms of technology and maintenance support infrastructure. He exhorted the technical personnel to remain focussed on challenges posed by state-of-the-art technologies being inducted on new ships, while ensuring that older ships were also maintained in peak operational state.

The Mid Year Infrastructure Review was also held on the day where policy level issues pertaining to creation of technical infrastructure for the Navy were discussed. Nair said that timely setting up of technical infrastructure in tune with the Navy’s growth plans was critical to ensure the life cycle support of ships and submarines.
