Land Hunt on in EG Dist for Petroleum Varsity

RAJAHMUNDRY:  A Central team, headed by the Rajiv Gandhi Petroleum University director GJ Guptha, inspected various places in Rajahmundry and Kakinada for suitable lands for the proposed Petroleum University. Advisor to the university SP Mathur was also a member of the team.

The team inspected various sites at the Government College in Rajahmundry, government lands at Lalacheruvu, forest site at Diwancheruvu, GIET Engineering College at Rajanagararam, government site at Jegurupadu village and NAC Centre at Bommuru village. They also inspected ITI premises at Kakinada and a few other places.

Later, Guptha said that the final report would be submitted to the Union government shortly. Classes would commence from July 2015 out of a campus and added that admissions would be based on marks scored in the entrance exam, he added.

Joint collector Revu Mutyala Raju, sub-collector V Vijaya Rama Raju, Government College principal Mastanaiah and urban tahsildar VVG Krishna were present.
