Bulletin on FCV Tobacco Released

GUNTUR: Tobacco Board chairman K Gopal has said that tobacco exports stood at 2,66,038 tonnes and their total worth was Rs 6,092.86 crore in 2013-14. Addressing a meeting here Monday, he said the export target was Rs 10,000 crore in the next five years.

The chairman made a detailed presentation on challenges, opportunities and the long- term perspective of the Tobacco Board and released a special bulletin  on the Karnataka FCV tobacco.

Tobacco Board executive director CV Subba Rao explained the steps taken by the board to find new markets for Indian tobacco abroad and the follow-up action on various problems faced by the tobacco trade. Mittapalli Umamaheswara Rao, president of ITA,  YA Chowdary, secretary and other office-bearers of ITA, representatives from cigarette manufacturers, tobacco exporters and dealers participated.
