Kali Temple Gets Ready for Dasara

VISAKHAPATNAM: With the Navaratri and Dasara festival just round the corner, Bhabatarini Charitable Trust of Visakhapatnam is conducting a series of pujas, homams and cultural programmes at the Kali Mata temple on the Beach Road from September 25 to October 3.

The festival would start at the Kali temple on September 25 with Kalsa Prathisthapana at 9 am. The devotees will be supplied with kumkum for free for the Kalsa Prathisthapana pooja and no fee will be charged.

Pandit Sri Vemparala Bhaskara Sarma along with nine other pandits will be conducting poojas at the temple.

The Goddess will be seen in the avatars of Lakshmi, Saraswati, Durga etc., on the Navaratri days. Cultural programmes will be conducted on the occasion, which include devotional songs/bhajans and classical dances, on all the nine days from 6pm to 9pm, said the organisers. Homams including Trichandi Homams will be conducted on each day of Navaratri and on Vijayadashami (September 3) ‘Poornahuti’ will be held.
