AP Govt's New Civic Service: Click a Pic, Have Your Problem Solved in 48 Hours

HYDERABAD: Is drainage overflowing in your locality? Are you getting sufficient drinking water? Has garbage piled up in your street? Just send a photo of the civic problem that you are facing in your town/city to the Municipal Administration Department through online along with your mobile number. Very soon, your complaint will be resolved within 48 hours and you will be sent an action taken report through SMS to your mobile.

In tune with AP chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s dream of transforming the state into a digital one, municipal administration and urban development minister P Narayana is ready to set up a mechanism in his department to resolve the complaints with regard to civic issues in every city/municipality within 48 hours.

This is named as ‘Online Grievance Redressal Tracking System’ and it will be introduced in all cities and municipalities very soon. For now, this mechanism is being implemented as a pilot project in select municipalities across the state such as Kadiri and Hindupur.

According to municipal administration minister P Narayana, people dwelling in urban areas can register their complaints through Internet along with a photo of the civic problem. 

“Once a complaint is registered through web-based application along with photo, the Municipal Administration Department will forward the details of the registered complaint to the concerned functionary along with the photo to resolve the issue immediately,” he disclosed. Narayana further said, “The issue will be addressed within 48 hours. Soon after resolving the complaint, the concerned citizen will be informed about the action taken by the functionary through SMS over his mobile phone or through web-based application.”

This ‘Online Grievance Redressal Tracking System’ enables citizens to track the status of their complaint at any given time.
