‘Laksha Kumkumarchana’ by 350 Couples on Day 5

VIJAYAWADA: Over 40,000 devotees visited the Kanaka Durga temple atop the Indrakeeladri where Goddess Durga was adorned as Sri Lalitha Tripura Sundari Devi on the fifth day of ‘Dasara Mahotsavams’ Monday.

The rush started since 3 am  and continued till night. The inflow of devotees was less when compared to the fourth day. Nearly 350 couples performed the ‘Laksha Kumkumarchana’ at Bhavani Mandapam on the temple premises.

Vijayawada-West MLA Jaleel Khan, former minister K Parthasarathy and former minister Mopidevi Venkataramana Rao were among other VIPs who visited the temple. The devotees had a hassle-free darshan and religious fervour marked the day’s proceedings. Goddess Durga will be adorned as ‘Mahalakshmi Devi’ Tuesday.
