Skill Development Scheme Launched

VIJAYAWADA: Pradhana Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), meant for imparting skills to the youth to make them employable, was inaugurated by Vijayawada MP Kesineni Nani at a function here on Friday.

National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) will implement the scheme in the Vijayawada Lok Sabha constituency. Very soon, youth who need skill development would be identified for imparting necessary skills to them.

Efforts would be made to look for educated youth in villages for the programme. The skill development programme would be for about a month and after that the youth would be issued certificates.

Speaking on the occasion, Nani said that youth are in dire need of good English communication skills and other skills needed for different jobs.

Those who spoke on the occasion included Vijayawada Central MLA B Umamaheswara Rao and  Deputy Mayor G Ramana Rao.
