After AP police recruitment website, another government website hacked

Even as state police were looking into the hacking of AP Police State recruitment Board site, another incident of a government website getting hacked came to light on Monday.

NELLORE: Even as state police were looking into the hacking of AP Police State recruitment Board site, another incident of a government website getting hacked came to light on Monday.

Officials of Vikrama Simhapuri University in Nellore lodged a complaint with Nellore One Town Police on Monday stating that unidentified miscreants have hacked the university official website - www.simhapuriuniv.ac.in  Thought the incident happened on Sunday, the officials formally lodged complaint on Monday.

hacked.JPGAccording to University officials, just 15 minutes after the website got hacked and a photo message warning Prime Minister Narendra Modi (his picture was morphed showing him blindfolded with pellet injuries) over the Kashmir issue was posted on home page of the website, university college principal P Venkata Rao got phone call from unidentified persons informing him about the hacking of the website.

Immediately, Bangalore-based Sriva Technologies, which hosts the university website was alerted and the offending message and images were removed. The calling card by the miscreants was said to be HEX 786.

It is not the first time, VSU’s website got hacked and the latest one was third such incident. First time the varsity website got hacked was in 2012 and again it was hacked in 2013. Officials suspect that it could be handy work of some pranksters or those pursuing ethical hacking course.

Nellore One Town inspector Abdul Kareem registered a case and took up investigation.
