VIJAYAWADA: The Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) has started putting up signposts highlighting route maps at crucial junctions in the city to avoid any traffic congestion ahead of the Krishna Pushkarams.
On Monday, VMC officials began erecting signposts directing pilgrims towards Pushkar ghats and other important locations at key points in the city. The signposts were erected near Ramavarappadu Junction, Government hospital junction, Ramesh hospital junction and Benz circle to provide detailed route to pilgrims coming from Eluru and Machilipatnam. For pilgrims coming from Guntur, signposts have been displayed near Kanaka Durga varadhi and Prakasam barrage. Another route map has been put up at Ibrahimpatnam for the convenience of pilgrims coming from Hyderabad.
Meanwhile, arrow marks were painted to indicate the directions of important junctions.
